Photo Assignment 7-Motion

In this assignment, I used my dogs as the target for capturing the motion effect. I had a really fast shutter speed and a pretty high ISO to create this effect. I had my dad throw up a tennis ball or have them run after one. My dog can jump really high so I got a great photo of her in the air.

ISO:800
Shutter Speed: 1/1600
Aperture: f/5.0

I had a fun time doing this assignment. I got some great shots and took the ability of my dogs jumping power to create great photos of motion. I also learned how to get the timing just right to get the best photo. I would defiantly do this assignment again if we had a choice.

Visual Dictionary

This assignment was all used through photoshop. We took a word of our choice and found the definition online and put it on a new photoshop item. We than took 3-4 photos from flickr and put them in the new item that involved the word.

I had a good time doing this assignment and I would defiantly do it again if I got the chance. I would find some more unique words next time to help my photo look even better than now. I also learned how to use all the tools I learned in photoshop and use them in this assignment.

This week, I took photos of nature. I also have some photos I took on the cruise in week one instead of seeing just snow. I captured the elegance and the beauty of nature in my photos. I took my final product and edited it in photoshop by changing the levels, cropping and using brush tool to soften the horizon.

Photoshop Tutorial

I used a reliable looking website that had many different tutorials that I could chose from. I decided to go with one that took 7 different photos and created a dock with a huge rock that looks like a house out in the middle of the ocean. I had to create many different layers and I had to use the lasso tool. I had to blend two sky's together and two oceans together to create a great effect. I had to make the horizon be softer. I had to create a shadow effect with the windows and the door. I used that brush to create very soft blackness to dim down the dock and sky.
Here is the website: Tutorial

At first, this was a very challenging tutorial but it got a little easier. It took me three days to create this photo. This was a challenging tutorial but I learned a lot from it and can use these skills in the future with editing my personal photos.

Context Assignment

In this assignment, I took photos around the school and created a photo that has water in an area that would seem like its supposed to be cement. We took real photos and made them look like why is that there.

I thought this was a difficult assignment and mine did not turn out so well. I thought my idea was good but it was hard to come up with things to be in my picture. I would not want to do it again if we had to choose.

Photo Assignment 5-Light Painting

I used a tripod and camera to create light painting for this weeks photo assignment. I had a dark room and a flashlight to create the painting of the light. I had to use a very slow shutter speed so I was able to create the paints.

Before:

After:

ISO:100
F-Stop: f/5.0
Shutter Speed: 15 sec

I learned how to use a flashlight to draw light in a photo. I thought it was a challenging assignment, trying not to get the flashlight shine in the camera or getting all of your outline done before it is done taking the photo. I would love to do it again, but it was a hard topic to do.

Photo Assignment 4-Macro

In this assignment, I got up close to trees and snow to capture there details to create great macro photos. I used the sun to create a good shadow and on the needles of my tree photos. I used the ability to blur the background out and keep the branch in focus with a low f/stop number.

ISO: 125
F/Stop: f/2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/1000

I learned how to capture really good up close photos to get the fine detail in the plants and show. By having a great sunny day, I could really get good detail on the photos. I would love to do this assignment again.

Portrait Assignment

We use the 3-Point Lighting setup and the Window Light setup to create 3 portrait photos. We used all sorts of different lighting in this assignment. We used the key light, fill light, and hair light in the 3-Point Lighting setup. We used the sun light and a bounce card to get our lighting in the Window Light setup.

I liked how we learned how to a professional portrait setup and how to do a cheap but good way to get a professional portrait. Theses setups can really help me in the future if I want to be a photographer.

Photo Assignment 3-Black and White

In this assignment, I used the black and white feature on our camera to try and capture great photos of my pets in black and white. I used a verity of different apertures, shutter speeds, and ISO settings to try and get the best photo I could. I took photos from different angles and made my pets sometimes be running or moving.

ISO: 80
Shutter Speed: 1/200 sec
Aperture: f/8.0

I thought this assignment was fun and I would love to do it again. I liked how the black and white feature made the photo look old but modern at the same time. It made the photo with the black and white. Black and white is a great feature and could be used in so many other ways to create great photos. If we have another assignment on black and white, I would very much so enjoy it.

Photo Assignment2-Animal

I took many photos of animals for this assignment. I have two dogs which you see in the photos and I also went over to a friends house where they have 10 golden retriever puppy's. I would get a treat and make my dog look some way with the treat in my hand while I take a photo of him from a different angle. My other dog was scared of the camera, so I only really got one good photo of her with her favorite toy. The puppies where awesome! They were sleeping on each other, playing, bitting my toes and sleeping on me. I got some great photos of them.

ISO: 640
F-Stop: f/2.8
Shutter Speed: 1/20 sec

I had a great time taking photos of my dogs and friends puppies. I would love to do it again and it was a great and fun topic to take photos of. Next time, I will try motion with my dogs.

I have really beautiful dogs who have nice coats on them and they will create a really good picutre. I hope to get a good freeze picture of my dogs playing. Also, my friend just had puppies so I can have pictures of them too witch I hope will come out just great.

Car Touch Up Assignment

I learned how to use clone tool and levels in this project. I also learned how to use text box in this assignment. I learned how to take a original picture and touch it up a bit to turn it into a professional picture. I learned how to select a certain part of the picture and inverse it to add color to just the background while not getting any of the color i'm painting on the subject.

I feel that we should stop doing touch ups and show pictures of real people, not models who are suppose be the best already without having even more touch ups. I think that we should just leave the picture as it was when it was taken. I shows the true beauty of the picture and you would know that it would be a real picture and not one that has been touched up by.

Photo Assignment 1-Architecture

I took photos of this staircase on this cruise I went on this past week. It was a really unique staircase. It had lots of light on it and went all different ways. It looked very modern. I took many photos of different sports of the staircase and came out with these photos.
ISO: 200
Aperture: f16
Shutter Speed: 1/300

I learned how to capture architecture that had lots of lighting and a unique shape. I was lucky that the cruise that i went on was had such an amazing staircase for me to take photos of. I learned how to realize that there was something amazing in front of me that I could capture in photos from all different angles. What went well was when i first set all of the setting like aperture and shutter speed, i didn't have to keep changing them because I go it right the first time and it worked fro all angles.
